The two best commercial lodging arrangements in Kitsap County (IMHBACO) are the Poulsbo Inn, www.poulsboinn.com/welcome.html,
which claims to be full [see below] over the weekend of June 7 through June 9, and the West Coast Silverdale Hotel, www.westcoasthotels.com/W...ONE&ID=76,
which is offering us a small "Poulsbo Palooza" discount.

West Coast Silverdale Hotel (Kitsap Airporter [$18 each way] from SEA stops here.)
www.westcoasthotels.com/W...NONE&ID=76
3073 NW Bucklin Hill Road
Silverdale, WA 98383
PHONE: (360) 698-1000
FAX: (360) 692-0932
RES: (800) 544-9799 IMPORTANT! Use this number, rather than the 800 number on the website, to get the special rate.
Rooms are $109 - $119, "Poulsbo Palooza" will be $100, double or single.
The West Coast Silverdale Hotel is only thirty minutes from Poulsbo. Besides that, it is in the same city as the Silver City Brewery, which is likely to be our dinner gathering place on Friday evening.
Holiday Inn Express
19801 Seventh Avenue NE
Poulsbo, Washington 98370
(Just off Highway 305)
www.sixcontinentshotels.c...isee=PSBWA 360-697-4400, or 1 800 HOLIDAY (1 800 465 4329)
They had seven rooms available yesterday, quoting $98 to $116, or so, per room. (I would try Priceline or become a Trawler Fest attendee, myself.)
Island Country Inn on Bainbridge Island (20 minutes from Poulsbo and near ferry terminal) www.bainbridgeislandlodgi...ountryinn/
Telephone: 206-842-6861
Toll Free: 1-800-842-8429
Fax: 206-842-9808
E-mail: [email protected]
Web Site: www.nwcountryinns.com/island
Quoted $99.00 for standard, $109 for king bed.
Island Country Inn wants me to guarantee a block of rooms with my credit card. While I love you all, I don't feel that is necessary, so, if you want to stay there, you need to book it pretty quickly. There is a horse show that weekend on the island.
Edgewater Beach Bed and Breakfast
Tel: 800-641-0955 Fax: 360-779-6015
26818 Edgewater Blvd.
Poulsbo, Washington 98370

I haven't been in this house for fifteen years or more. The host and hostess are interesting people. Lori knows them, too.
Manor Farm Inn www.manorfarminn.com/mfi1.html www.manorfarminn.com/entrance1.jpg
26069 Big Valley Road NE
Poulsbo, Washington 98370
(360) 779-4628
Fax (360) 779-4876
(The reason that the Poulsbo Inn is full and that the Holiday Inn Express in Poulsbo only has seven rooms (as of April 3) for that weekend is that the "Trawler Fest" (www.trawlerworld.com/c_tf..._sched.htm ) is here at that time. I had never heard of it until now, but it attracts about 3,000 people to this area. Many of them come in by boat, and they must sleep on their boats, otherwise we would have tents set up around here!
Anyway, Trawler Fest has reserved a block of rooms at the Poulsbo Inn and at the Holiday Inn Express.
I quote from the Trawler Fest website, "Two host hotels are providing accommodations at special rates for Trawler Fest participants.
At Poulsbo Inn (1-800-597-5151 or 1-360-779-3921), ask for the Trawler Fest rate of $84 and up.
At Holiday Inn Express (1-800-HOLIDAY or 1-360-697-4400), ask for the Trawler Fest rate of $79.
Both offer free continental breakfast.
For lodging choices elsewhere in Poulsbo and environs, and for visitor information, please call the
Greater Poulsbo Chamber of Commerce (1-360-779-4999). "
These are bargain rates for these two properties. Of course, they are intended only for those who will be visiting the "Trawler Fest" events during the weekend, but that should not be hard to fit into your plans if you like boats. Refer to the Trawler Fest website.)

Gablin- Do you think the hassle of staying in DT on a Priceline/Hotwire room is worth the savings? Or would they be suitable in the event rooms are really hard to come by?

A330300,
Is DT downtown? Sorry to be so dumb but I want to have all rooms and arrrangements made prior to arrival as it looks like we are going to get to MEET BUD!!!!!! an EVIE!!!!!!!
Will drive down unless I can fly into Sacramento and drive up to Seattle which would be more logical. Unless, dropping off a car in a different airport is too expensive.
If we are in Seattle, can ferry car to Poulsbo. If we are staying near it would be nice to car pool. This goes for anyone attending!Sandy, Mellow Girl? Anyone else?
e/mail me any suggestions. Urbanlady

Hubby and I will also have a car, so we will be available to ferry (pun very much intended) people around.
I'm sure we are attending, but I haven't clicked the "purchase" button yet for our tickets so I can't commit to driving anybody in particular. After I buy our tickets I'll post here and we can start strategizing the car pool situation.

Question: will all of the events be in Poulsbo (or otherwise on the "left side") or will any be on the SEA side? What time is breakfast on Sat?

I purchased our tickets todays, and also managed to snag a car through Priceline. Now I just need to figure out the lodging. We are coming in after 8pm on the 6th, so I figure I should Priceline a room near the AP for that first night.
If we are meeting in Poulsbo only twice it would probably make more since for us to stay SEA. I think I'll wait to see what the majority is doing before going ahead with lodging.

Sunday Lunch will be on the Seattle side.
For those wanting to stay in DT Seattle (make sure it is downtown SEATTLE and not Burien, Renton, Kent, Bellevue, Lynwood, etc) It is easy to walk on the ferry, or carpool from this side.
I wouldn't recommend driving around. It takes too long, and you have to go through the "aroma" of Tacoma, as it is called. (ok, all of Pierce County can bash away). The ferry is a must do. Perhaps y'all will end up on the one named after my hometown.
If you are staying in Downtown Seattle, let me know. I'll be around that week.

Where you want to stay depends on what you want to do besides the Palooza.
If you are in Seattle, or near the airport, you are close to the Boeing factory, the Museum of Flight, Seattle Center, Pike Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, Archie McPhee's, the Mariners and the Huskies.
If you stay in Poulsbo, you have no smog and you have free parking: you are near Liberty Bay, Dogfish Creek, the Canal, the Olympic Mountains, Dungeness Spit, Port Gamble, Point No Point, Toe Jam Hill, Kingston (which includes both Nike Park and Appletree Cove) a llama farm, the Naval Undersea Museum, the Marine Science Center, kayak rentals, The Rolling Bay Hay and Feed Store, and more rustic, rural stuff than you can shake a stick at!
I love Seattle, and I am glad that it is only a thirty minute ferry ride away from me, but I am glad that I live on this side. Can you tell?
