Thanks, Globaliser. Both options sound almost as risky as just waiting for the T3 bus.

After a bout of sleeplessness last night that lasted about 3 hours, I slept soundly till 8:30 AM, when I woke up Ron, who had slept pretty much the entire night. We should be OK from hereon. We spent the day wandering first through the flea markets and the other markets on the way to the Acropolis. We spent a lot of time at the Acropolis and the surrounding area. Lots of subjects for picture-taking! Unfortunately, Ron forgot to bring the digital camera. We're using my compact 35mm film camera, so we should still have good pictures for the Web site- we just don't get to preview them!

We had lunch outdoors at a taverna on the Plaka Monastiriki, eating and people-watching, Ron thought he saw a discreet drug buy go on between 2 guys who passed our table. Weather went from changeable and sometimes sunny to cold with pretty steady sprinkles, so we're back in the hotel to dry out but will probably go out again. The boat for Patmos leaves at 11:30 PM but that timing is starting to sound good. We'll have bread, wine, cheese and meat in the room, then take the Metro to Piraeus. No need to rush!
