Well, we ahve had our share in the DC area:

Coastal flood warning in effect until 11 p.m. - March 15, 2010 - 11:58am

WASHINGTON - Coastal flood warnings are posted until 11 p.m. along the tidal Potomac River, thanks to several days of rain and melting snow in Western Maryland.  The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings for Frederick and Montgomery counties in Maryland and Loudoun County in Virginia.  The weather service says at 8:45 a.m. at Point of Rocks, the river had reached 25.1 feet. Flood stage is 16 feet.

High waters have closed all of the C&O Canal campgrounds, day use areas and boat ramps.  Water levels are expected to remain high throughout the day and evening.  At White's Ferry, Malcolm Brown says it will be a couple of days before the ferry service across the Potomac resumes. The water inside the store at White's Ferry was 5 feet deep at 5 a.m. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources says recreational uses of the upper Potomac River should be avoided because recent rains have increased river levels.

In Old Town Alexandria, Va., 6,000 sandbags are piled up near the waterfront, where it frequently floods. High tide has passed in Alexandria. WTOP's Hank Silverberg says the water on King Street has started to recede. It had been about 6 inches deep around 5 a.m. Five hours later, it was about 3 inches deep. Restaurants and businesses at the waterfront are mopping up, with many planning to open at 11 a.m.
