Several years ago we drove up to Whistler, a great ski resort in British Columbia. The route was a twisty two-lane road, with signs at the start mandating tire chains in snowy weather. I expect they'll make major improvements to the road, build rail service, or both, with the Olympics coming up.
Rail service is in place, and the road (the Sea to Sky Highway) was being worked when we drove it this summer. I recall reading somewhere that there will be tight restrictions on individual passenger vehicles during the Olympics. Makes sense.

One can fly to Whistler on a floatplane when the lakes there are not frozen. I wonder how often skis are fitted, allowing flights to continue during the winter. Whistler is probably also within helicopter range from Vancouver. So there are many possible options. As usual, I'll be watching the Olympics on TV.
