The Detroit-Windsor and Windsor-Detroit crossings were definitely more scrutinized than the crossings to/from New York State, at least when I made my drives. Trucks must have been waiting an hour or more to enter the U.S. from Canada on the day I first crossed the border. That's something we must all ultimately pay for.
