.........But I am an honest person.
3 days ago at our mall as I was walking by the cash machine it started to beep. I walked over to it with one of my co-workers and the screen read "Do you want another transaction?"
I clicked "yes" just to see what would happen.
Sure enough, the screen with all of the options came up. We clicked "check my balance" and a slip came out that read that this person had just under 100.00 in their account.
The first screen came up again. We clicked "no" and walked away. This was one of those machines that doesn't retain your card until the end of the transaction and so the person probably absent-mindedly figured they were done. They had their $$ and their card.
It happened again today, same machine(is someone testing me???). I went through the same steps, only this person had about 5 grand in their acct.
Scary.
A less honest person could just wait for a busy mom(heck, it could be me!) or otherwise distracted people and make off with quite a bit of cash. I also noticed that this machine sits right next to the customer service desk at the mall yet both times the person behind the desk paid no attention to the beeping noise. Neither did the security guard that was there today.
Just great.
They could both get jobs as TSA agents-they seem to pay about the same amount of attention.
I am taking both checking inquiry slips to the mall management office on Monday to show them why their customer service reps should keep an eye on the machine. Maybe even install a camera.
