AA flight BWI-MIA April 16
We left BWI at 7:10am, right on schedule. The plane was a 727 at gate 4 (I believe). We past an abandoned Southwest 737. We took off runway 15 for an uneventful flight. The Bistro breakfasts were OK. They had an apple, a nutri-grain bar, a muffin, and orange juice. I fell asleep until we were on approach right over South Beach. It was awesome!
Enchantment of the Sea's- April 16-23
The boat was amazing! The glass elevators in the centrum were really cool too. The food and service was GREAT! To have Filet Mignon 3 nights in a row...that was great!
Ports of Call-
St. Maarten:         I followed all your directions, and went to Maho Beach! WOW!!! I saw 2 AA 757's land, and a Sabena (painted "Sabel") 767 land. 4 AA 757's took off. When they took off, it felt like a tornado ripped through! Terribly, the beach was cut short, and hotels were ruined by the hurricane. They took a real beating. All the hotels are currently under reconstruction. But it was great!
St. Thomas:         We boarded an open air taxi right off the boat to town to go shopping. Once there, we did a little shopping (nothing to great). ON the was back, some big fat woman just doesn't even look where she's going (I moved aside) and steps on my big toe (I wore sandals). OWW! She bent my toenail! She muttered a sorry, damn her, just joking! Later, I took a ferry to St. John, where I boarded an open air taxi to Trunk Bay (what a scenic ride!). We went snorkeling and saw AMAZING fishes of all colors and sized!
Nassau:         CoCoCay, Royal Caribbean's private island is closed, so we went to Nassau Bahamas. While pulling in, the flagpole in the back of the ship dented Carnival's Ecstasy! HAHAHA! The Ecstasy captain was quite pissed! I got pictures of that! We went to the Atlantis, and found a friend of my dads, who gave us a room key. We got to go in the underwater observatory (THAT WAS GREAT!) and on the amazing waterslides. I was informed by a security guard that Britney Spears was there (I do not know if this was true or not). We had a great day.
Our Day In Miami-
We had a 7pm flight, and we were off the ship by 9:45am. So we headed to the airport on a Cruise bus, and checked our bags at MIA. We were with another family of 4. We rented a van (Dodge Caravan) from "Dollar" and went sigtseeing. We saw Ricky Martin's restaurant, and unfortunalty, nothing to rave about. We spent the day on South Beach (topless) and I watched (among other things, hahaha) Virgin, Air France, British Airways, and United 747's on approach. On our way back to the airport, a woman illegally making a U-turn (and on her cell phone not to mention) hit the side of our car. Both were totaled, but everyone was OK. I said a few dirty things to her, and boarded a cab to the airport.
AA flight 978 MIA-BWI- April 23
We arrived at 7:30pm (due to the crash). Luckily (for the first time ever), the flight was delayed until 8:45pm, and then until 9:15pm due to mechanical problem. We did take off at 9:15pm on our 727. It still had 1970 panels. They served soda, water, and a little snack, this time good, due to the "inconvenience". The flight landed at 11:48pm. Very smooth landing, I give him credit.
Overall, I say cruising is the best way to vacation! While those at Trip.com's Hot Talk still (with no reasoning) claim this is fake, I promse it is not. This was the first time RCCL left Port Everglades (they had balloons and all). Enchantment of the Sea's (Eastern/Western Carribbean) is the only ship out of FLL so far I belive (for RCCL). They have updated this on the site and in the brochure for those who still do not belive me.
