For the first time in I don't know how long, I deposited a check at an ATM (still don't understand why branches don't open until 9:00 AM -- maybe
it's because of ATM's) and learned that the traditional deposit slip was not required. The ATM simply scanned the check and, well, basically that was
all. It gave me an image of the check on the receipt and sent me on my way. Pretty cool for someone seeing it for the first time.
Wasn't there a long-ago Hot Talker who was an ATM expert?
